Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace!
This Sunday we celebrate God's grace as we mark two anniversaries. It's our annual festival of the Lutheran Reformation and we also gather to give thanks to the Lord as we mark 175 years of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod - the church body to which we belong and in which we work together with over 1,200 congregations in American and many churches around the world to proclaim the saving name of Jesus.
Our celebration on Sunday also includes some social time between services. A pancake breakfast (also includes egg bakes) is planned. Come to the Fellowship Hall between 9:15 - 10:15 a.m.

Prayer Notes:
- We join Pam and Jamie Pierson in giving thanks to the Lord at the birth of a granddaughter. Karina (Luthra-Pierson) and her husband Chris welcomed a baby girl on October 16. We ask the Lord to bless with good health little Eliza and Karina during these early days after birth.
- Let's include Haley Fricke in our prayers. She received a Call this week to teach 3rd grade at Risen Savior in Milwaukee, WI. That means she is holding two Calls and will decide where to use her teaching gifts to serve the Lord. God grant her peace and clarity as she deliberates. (And...please offer Haley your words of encouragement.)
Other Notes:
- The choir will meet before first service.
- There is no Sunday School or Bible studies this Sunday at Five Forks because of the pancake breakfast.
- Pumpkin Fest is Saturday (10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). Come and enjoy the live music, vendors, food trucks, petting zoo, and more! Thank you to all who have signed up to help with the event!
- Tonight there is Bible study at AP Easley (6:15-7:30).
- Friday at our Easley site is "Treats on the Street." If you'd like to help, let me know. Thank you for the many donations of candy for the event.
- Sign up Sunday for a Swamp Rabbit hockey game (November 15 is Faith and Family Night).
- "Butterbraids" are back and delicious as ever! Get them in time for the holidays. See the information and sign up sheet on Sunday. This is also a fundraiser for our youth to help with costs for the annual Youth Ski Trip and summer camps.
