Good afternoon and greetings from Abiding Peace,

The season of Lent began last night (Ash Wednesday) and we have begun our annual journey with Jesus to the cross and empty tomb.  Join the journey each week!

This year our theme for Sundays is: "Exactly What I Need."  We will see how God provides us with a champion, a gift, refreshment, and more - what we need for today and for eternity. Each Sunday at AP Five Forks we will also read the passion (Latin for "suffering") history of Jesus and light a candle as we draw nearer and nearer to Good Friday and Easter morning.

Prayer Notes:

- Kathy Fisher's sister, Wendy, ended her battle with cancer with victory in Christ.  She now enjoys an eternity of peace and joy in heaven.  We ask the Lord to comfort Kathy and the family.

- We also pray for Carolyn Dahm's sister, Reba.  (Carolyn is one of our preschool aides.). Reba was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is in the early steps of treatment.  We ask the Lord to bless with success those treatments, and that he gives strength to Reba and her family.

Other Notes:

- College online Bible study is tonight at 9:00 p.m.  If you did not receive information from Vicar Charlie to connect, let me know.

- Sunday School (K4-5th grade) is singing in the 10:30 service on March 8th, which means there are three more rehearsals (9:30 a.m. in church).

- We are forming a group to sing for Easter.  If you are interested, let me know, or contact Kim Gnewuch.

- Last chance to sign up for the chili cook off!

- The deadline to sign up for the Daddy/Daughter Dance is February 28th.  Cost is $25/family.  (Check to Abiding Peace or Venmo: @APAGiving)

- APA Chick fil-A "spirit night" is March 10 (5-8 p.m.) Mark your calendars.

Wednesdays in Lent:

- At AP Five Forks a Lent devotion will be emailed each Wednesday: "Hope in the Darkness."  February 25 will build off last night's lesson at AP Five Forks - a closer look at Job: "Hope in the darkness of grief because of death."

- At AP Easley in-person worship is offered at 6:15 p.m. The theme is "Anatomy of the Cross" and February 25th the focus is on the nails.
