AP E-News

Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace,

Our "End Times" focus continues Sunday as we remember Jesus' promise to return on the Last Day to "judge the living and the dead."  As we wait, we are patient, watchful, and steadfast in faith.  Come Sunday to hear more.

Prayer Notes:

- Pastor Quandt's father, John, a retired pastor, was called home to heaven this week and has joined the saints and angels to rejoice in God's gift of salvation.  May our gracious Lord bring peace to Pastor Q and Mary as they celebrate a father's life and a heavenly Father's gift of eternal life.

- We thank the Lord that our government has reopened and begun to carry out its responsibilities as "God's servant for your good" (Romans 13:4).  The shutdown was a reminder for us to include our leaders in society in our prayers that they govern with wisdom and integrity for good purposes.

Other Notes:

- Sunday School youth (K-5th grade) will sing in the 10:30 service on November 23rd.  They practice this Sunday and next at 9:30 a.m.

- Christmas party (12/7) tickets are on sale Sunday ($30).  All are invited!

- For our service on November 23rd at AP Five Forks:

  •  All new members of AP in 2025 will be welcomed.  (Special cake in the Fellowship Hall between services.)

  • We will remember all loved ones who have "transfered membership" to heaven in 2025.  If you'd like a loved one listed, please let me know asap.

- Thank you for the many orders for Butter Braids.  The order will be at church on December 2nd (around 3 p.m.).

- New sign-ups on Sunday: Poinsettia donations and offering envelopes (if you'd like a packet for your Sunday offerings).

- New Forward in Christ and Meditations are available (free!) on the information table on Sunday.

- WELS 175th anniversary special celebration donations are being collected.

- If you'd like to help organize Christmas decorating at Five Forks this year, please contact Tom Carlsen or let me know.
